Alfred & Constance — The Fortitude Valley

Alfred & Constance — The Fortitude Valley

Is this where all the trendy people go? On first impressions, Alfred & Constance (or A&C as locals call it) seemed to be a melting pot of the exceedingly attractive intertwined with a modern hipster vibe. Despite being neither of these two demographics, I did feel very at home. This was probably owing to the uber cute set-up they have involving the amalgamation of two Queenslander style homes to form a sort-of “house party”. Quirky, yet fresh describes the eclectic collection of rooms, each with independent bar and menu dining options. Of particular interest to me was the “late night dessert bar and boozy-smoothie station” which was a great source of excitement for me to visit and lived very much up to my expectations!

Bistro One Eleven — CBD

Bistro One Eleven

Truth be told, I thought the food at Bistro One Eleven was going to be as rich as anything. Consequently, I forced myself to do an extra cardio set at the gym before dinner in the hopes of burning away any potential feelings of guilt. However, I was pleasantly surprised. One Eleven is far from the overly decadent kind of restaurant reserved merely for select celebratory occasions. In contrast, I felt that it presented honest and personable meals with unequivocal trendiness and class.

On Wednesday 7/11/12, Brisbane Bites was invited to attend the media launch of Phillip Johnson’s (also of CBD’s E’cco Bistro) Bistro One Eleven.

E’cco Bistro — Brisbane CBD

E’cco -  Brisbane CBD

Established in 1995 by Kiwi Chef Phillip Johnson, E’cco has long been a symbol of class and prestige amongst Brisbane foodies. The ethos is pretty simple: “do as little as possible with the highest quality ingredients”. It sure did the trick on Wednesday 31/10/12 when Brisbane Bites was invited to attend the launch of the new menu with my fellow food blogging peers. Also, I should mention that the menu changes every few months, so you should all keep a look out for that!

The Norman Hotel –Woolloongabba

Norman Hotel Steakhouse

I don’t even like steak that much. I probably only eat it about once every 3 months. But, on my recent expedition to The Norman Hotel in Woolloongabba, perhaps things are about to change? I think that I may even have had the BEST steak of my life…and ironically it was actually cooked by ME!

Limes Hotel Thursday Rooftop Wine Club

To be honest, it was our first time at Limes Hotel, but boy were we impressed! Beautiful roof-top bar, perfect weather, sky-line sunset, flowing wine and zesty, mouthwatering tapas… couldn’t ask for more!

The Brisbane Bites team attended the LAUNCH of Limes Hotel’s Thursday Rooftop Wine Club on Thursday 20/09/12.
