American cuisine to the max… that’s how I like to put it. And that’s how they serve it up at Chompers, a local chain fast-food eatery with stores in Oxley, Yeronga and Daisy Hill. The Brisbane Bites team hit up the Yeronga eatery with a insatiable desire to devour the Oh My Goodness burger — succulent beef patty with cheese & bacon in-between two Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Peak hour traffic is a killer. It’s tiring and frustrating to say the least. However, being the optimist that I am, I sometimes like to think of the standstill traffic as an opportunity to be aware and notice one’s surroundings. You never know, you might find a hidden gem! One morning as I plodded along Indooroopilly’s peak-hour Moggill road, I noticed the bright new orange signage for the recently opened “Mr Burger & Fish”: a fish, chips and take-away joint with a twist!

For the uninitiated, Grill’d is a burger institution originating from Melbourne that specialises in ‘gourmet’ burgers. Their marketing is progressively chic in its use of nifty catchphrases, and 1950s stylings combined with art-house cartoon graphics. Over the last few months they have been expanding aggressively in Qld and we visited the Wintergarden store, which is the latest addition to the fold.
