Kadoya — Sunnybank

Kadoya is a funky fresh fran­chise that has recently expanded from its orig­i­nal store in the Bris­bane CBD to another the South­side sub­urb of Sun­ny­bank. Located in the famous Mar­ket Square precinct, home of deli­ciously authen­tic Asian cui­sine, Kadoya is wel­come addi­tion to the local food scene. Serv­ing up a great vari­ety of Japan­ese bento (food sets), don­buri (meat & rice bowls), Japan­ese cur­ries and other deli­cious Japan­ese dishes.

Kadoya is refresh­ingly authen­tic and is rem­i­nis­cent of true Asian cui­sine; deli­cious yet afford­able, allow­ing one to be spoilt to the point of being able to eat for sev­eral days with­out even cooking!

What we had?

Curry With Croquettes($9):

Sat­is­fy­ing a strong desire for Japan­ese curry, I opted for the curry cro­quette dish ($9). Hap­pily, it can be served accord­ing to per­sonal pref­er­ence with options of “mild, spicy or super spicy” sauce. I chose the spicy option, which had a good punch to it yet did not over­power the cro­quettes. The flavour and qual­ity of the cro­quettes was good.

Our thoughts

Kadoya is essen­tially a Japan­ese fast food. Being a reg­u­lar patron of Kadoya in the CBD for many years, I have fre­quently indulged in this type of cui­sine, espe­cially through­out my uni­ver­sity days. As such, if one is look­ing for an impres­sively deli­cious, cheap, fast Japan­ese meal, then look no fur­ther! On the flip side, it is not a place nec­es­sar­ily for impor­tant discussions/business lunches etc.

Due to the pop­u­lar­ity of Kadoya, expect to wait 5-10minutes for a table dur­ing the lunch hour rush.
