Event– Opening Invitation to Merlo’s New Coorparoo Store
Merlo Coffee Coorparoo
Hooray for Merlo Coffee lovers on the south side! They have finally opened a torrefazione (Italian for roasting house) in Coorparoo. Of course being the coffee connoisseurs that we are at Brisbane Bites, we couldn’t say no to the invitation of their grand opening.
When we arrived, we were greeted with empty coffee tins and directed to counter where we could have our pick of blends. We were in heaven.
They had eight blends to choose from plus a flavour of the month, which was Ethiopia Guji.
The staff there were kind enough to quickly whip us up an espresso using the Ethiopia Guji blend to let us taste the complexity of it. It was an interesting blend. Smooth with a hint of blueberry.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that the friendly baristas at Coorparoo Merlo Coffee are all play and no work. They take their jobs very seriously.
We saw the obvious dissatisfaction on the face of one barista as the espresso she was making was not of the quality she expected. Mentioning that the water was filtering out too fast, she discarded the cup and ground another cup of beans to make the perfect espresso for one of the waiting guests.
Now that is what we call quality service!
